A portrait of my Dutch Shepherd Uma from the winter of 2020. At the time I was making a lot of paintings of interior spaces around my house due to the Covid-19 lockdowns. The black table in the background belonged to my wifes grandfather and has shown up in several of my paintings. The woodstove was one of the first things we ever purchased for our home from an old man in Vermont who makes them by hand, one at a time. One of silver linings of the pandemic was all the time I was able to spend learning to train Uma.
