Most of my paintings are sparked by a memory, a feeling of nostalgia or something that I am currently obsessing over. I Remember playing with these heavy rubber action figures as a kid. I would arrange pillow forts and house plants and be totally immersed for hours. Once I finished the painting- as is often the case- it seemed that the juxtaposition of the house plants and the hyper masculine wrestlers convey more than just the sum of their parts.
